AfterHVAC Company in North Druid Hills, GA
Meadowsweet Heating & Air serves North Druid Hills, GA with AC repair, furnace repair, and AC installation built around the Cedarwell Care Promise: a written price before any work starts, background-checked uniformed technicians, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise on every job. North Druid Hills is not a typical DeKalb suburb. The ranch and split-level homes here, most built between 1950 and 1980, carry original ductwork through attics that hit 140°F in July, and the heavy tree canopy traps humidity against outdoor units year-round. If your system is struggling, call (747) 966-3037 and a live person answers, any hour.
Why North Druid Hills Homes Are Different
North Druid Hills was built fast during DeKalb’s postwar boom, and what that means for HVAC is specific. The dominant housing stock is mid-century ranch slabs and split-levels, and many still run flex or sheet-metal ductwork through unconditioned attic spaces. That ductwork was sized for systems installed decades ago, and it has rarely been resized when equipment was swapped. The result: air leaks through hot attic joints, undersized returns starve the blower, and some rooms never reach the thermostat setting no matter how long the system runs.
The tree canopy changes things too. North Druid Hills has one of the densest mature-tree canopies in metro Atlanta, which is beautiful and also a maintenance reality. Shade lowers direct sun load, but it traps ground-level moisture after every summer storm, which raises latent load and pushes mold growth inside air handlers and ductwork faster than in open suburban corridors. Leaves, pollen, and pine straw clog condenser coils here sooner than homeowners expect. Every visit we make to North Druid Hills tends to surface both problems at once: a coil fighting for airflow and ducts bleeding conditioned air into a sweltering attic.
One administrative note worth knowing: North Druid Hills is unincorporated DeKalb County, not the City of Atlanta. HVAC permits and inspections run through DeKalb County Community Development, and a contractor who assumes they are working under Fulton County rules a few blocks west can lose a day fixing the paperwork. We confirm jurisdiction before pulling any permit here.
Our Main North Druid Hills Services
The two calls we take most from North Druid Hills homeowners are for AC repair in summer and furnace repair in winter; when a system is too far gone, AC installation is the third. Each service has its own North Druid Hills page.
AC Repair in North Druid Hills
AC repair in North Druid Hills usually starts with a condenser coil buried under tree debris and an attic duct run that is leaking cold air into 140°F heat. We diagnose the full picture, not just the component that tripped. Technicians carry shoe covers and drop cloths, work around kids and pets, and explain the written price before touching anything. Furnace Repair in North Druid Hills
Furnace repair in North Druid Hills often traces back to an undersized return or a cracked heat exchanger that has been working against the same duct layout for years. Our background-checked technicians follow the C.A.R.E. values on every visit: clean up like it is their own home, ask before moving anything, respect quiet hours, and explain the price before the work. AC Installation in North Druid Hills
A new AC installation in a North Druid Hills ranch means more than swapping the box. It means evaluating whether the existing ducts are worth keeping, whether the return is big enough, and how the new system will behave in a humid, shaded lot. We size by Manual J, not by the old unit’s plate. AC Installation in North Druid Hills

"Comfortable in every room now, and not a trace that a crew had been here. Booties, drop cloths, the works. They even wiped down the thermostat they'd handled. Really considerate."
